Division

There are over 300 people within the UK Real Estate Division. The client base is first class and varies from major property companies, private investors, major corporates, merchant banks / funds to the public sector. The UK Real Estate team include audit, tax and real estate professionals including surveyors, engineers, financial analysts and other professionals from a variety of backgrounds. The UK is the main hub for all Real Estate matters throughout EMEA with another 1000 real estate staff in the US – in total the group is approximately 2000 worldwide and growing. Real Estate Solutions is the dedicated team that provides the property consulting expertise which the firm offers. Their work is split into 3 areas:

• Corporate Real Estate / Occupier Advisory (Facilities Management) - Front & back end strategy and implementation work for private and public sector clients across EMEA and often working closely with US colleagues in worldwide strategies and solutions. This area is also covers investment in property amongst its areas of advice to Financial Institutions.
• Construction Advisory - Forensic work on major projects with skill and expertise in all areas of construction, planning and programme management, FM, procurement & acting as client representative.
• Real Estate Transactions – property finance area dealing with investment banks predominantly, structuring finance for major private and public sector deals. They handle complex asset sales, multiple (rather than single) transactions, and often somewhat rather quirky corporate finance deals.

Projects / Clients

This is predominantly a UK orientated business but has seen an increasing amount of European projects plus has worked closely on some projects with the US Real Estate team.

Roles

The Real Estate Team expanded throughout 2007 & continues in the same vein in 2008, due to its exceptional success and profitability which has marked it out as a significant growth area, with a number of senior and junior appointments expected for those seeking to take a definitive career step. Principally seeking to build up the junior / mid ranking level area of the team by some 3-4 new individuals, principally for the CRE / FM / Construction areas rather than Property Finance. Ideal specification is a mix of academic achievement (good degree and possibly post grad / MBA / other qualification), someone who can present themselves well and is also able / keen to work across more than one of the areas of the RES team. Background could be from any of surveying, construction, engineering, consulting, banking areas, which would match the current make up of the team.
